I finally got my child a warm hat for the winter. I had the hardest time finding a decent one anywhere..the stores only seemed to have hats for girls (or hats with giant cartoon characters on them)!

Merry Christmas!

Kyler had some Christmas pictures taken. I feel bad b/c we are not doing Christmas cards this year b/c I never got around to it. It just takes so much time stuffing all the envelopes and putting on all the labels and stamps. Jamie has been out of town for work the past month and I was sick all last week with food poisoning (courtesy of Jamie's deer sausage). Thank you mom for coming into town to help with the baby! Anyhow, there has been no time for anything but the minimal. I think one of these pictures would have looked really cute too in a Christmas card, so I am kind of sad about it. Oh well. Thank you to those of you who have sent us cards. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving in Nederland

After driving home from Nebraska we had a night to rest and then we drove 6 hours to Nederland (near Beaumont TX) to visit Jamie's family and celebrate Jamie's B-day. It was a really great trip! Jamie's mom watched Kyler during the day and I got to catch up on some much needed sleep. We ate lots of pie and watched a lot of football. I love pie for breakfast..I want to make a cutesy decorative sign (you know, like the ones that say Live, Laugh, Love Often) to go in the kitchen that says, "Eat Some Pie...for breakfast." I LOVE that my in-laws like to have pie for breakfast! Jamie's old high school buddies came over as well with their babies, so it was a nice reunion. Kyler started noticing his feet more this week, as noted in the picture of him grabbing his red Husker's socks. It was kind of cute watching the discovery!

NE Trip
The Saturday before Thanksgiving we (Jamie, myself, Kyler, Shiloh, and Jamie's dad) drove to Nebraska to visit Jamie's grandmother. It was a 15 hr car ride, which could have been bad, except Jeremy lent us his Toyota Sequoya, so we had more room. Kyler did well but got pretty ancy toward the end of the trip due to being in his car seat for so long. Yes, I cheated and took him out quite a bit. The trip was really nice. We visited with Jamie's grandma and even took a day for ourselves to visit the local monuments..Chimney Rock and Scottsbluff, which were major landmarks during the pioneering days when settlers moved out west (remember the Oregon Trail computer game from elementary school?). The top picture shows Great Grandma Hood playing 'This Little Piggy' with Kyler's toes...very sweet.
