Last Day of School

Here are comparative shots of the kids on their very first day of school and their very last day of school.

Graduation and Final Parties at Preschool

Kyler's class was in involved in a graduation program complete with songs and a ceremony. The graduation ceremony didn't apply to Kyler really since he is taking another year of Pre-K, but some of his classmates will be going on to Kindergarten. Following the program, there was a nice party back in his class room. Kennan's class also had a little party (a Tea Party to be exact). It was very emotional for me because we have loved Kennan's teacher this year. Ms. Bet prepared SEVERAL scrapbooks for each child documenting the entire school year complete with pictures and artwork. It was very moving to see a teacher put so much love into my child. Plus, seeing the comparison pictures of Kennan at the beginning of the year and then
end of the year was astonishing.

Beach Vacation 2013

This was our first official family vacation. We stayed on the west end of Galveston in a super nice condo. On the way to Galveston we stopped in Kemah so Kyler and Kennan could ride the infamous train. It also happened to be a race car and hot rod car show day, so Kyler was in heaven. For lunch we stopped at Bubba's Shrimp Palace, as seen on the Day Tripper. Man that place is amazing! I ate a 1/2 lb of peel and eat shrimp while Jamie had endless shrimp. The while time we ate, the kids played in the sand. We hadn't even reached our vacation spot but were having so much fun already!

Once we got to the condo, the kids hit the beach and relatives drove in to visit. Days were filled with either going to the pool (two resort pools to choose from) or the beach. While on the beach, Kennan spent most of the time playing in the sand and Kyler played in the water. Kyler was truly fearless and rode waves with the boogie board. Thankfully, Papa Ray was there to show him the ropes for two of the days. We were visited by the Hoods and the Roth families. After a few days we took a break and drove into Galveston to ride the ferry, board the clipper ship Elissa, and visit the Galveston Railroad Museum. Of course, mommy and daddy had to get their seafood fix at Benno's. Sadly, crab season was over (boo!) but we enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp!

We also took nightly (more like at dusk) walks on the beach to see any crabs but we only saw two total. By the end of our trip we were all exhausted and actually ready to head home. I don't think I could have endured another day as I was so sore from walking in the sand and carrying things down to the water.

View from our balcony and this happened to be the best weather we had entire week

Destruction

This is kind of old news but here are the shots of when Kyler keyed our van two months ago. He used a screw to inflict $2,000 worth of damage to it. He scratched from the front headlight all the way around the side to the back tail light. We got an estimate. We can claim on our insurance but with a grand deductible, will probably just live with it. I will forever look like I ticked off someone who then keyed my car. Nope, it was my four year old son who was angry about something random. These pictures are going in his baby book to be used at a later date ;)

Rodeo Day

Here are some professional shots taken at school for rodeo day. It happened to be rainy and freezing cold that day and evidently poor Kennan was not cooperating to get this shot. That explains why she looks so odd. Kyler looks as handsome as ever, I think!
